Chauvel’s forces built 15,000 dummy horses to deceive Ottoman and German commanders before the Battle of Megiddo. The decoys masked the night-time movement of men, horses and supplies toward the real battlefield.
The award, which is in the process of being finalised, will recognise young people who demonstrate resilience, leadership and service during their education.
